"The Big Find" of 1972 to 1974 at the Dunton Quarry in Newry, Maine produced an incredible amount of gem tourmaline rough. The pink tourmaline gemstone at the center of this pendant was faceted from rough from that find.
Maine jewelry artist Pamela Hitchcock took the gem and framed it in 18k yellow gold allowing the color of the gem to pop! The tourmaline measures 8 x 6 mm and weighs 1.32 carats.
