This natural watermelon tourmaline slice has great color and comes from the Big Find at the Dunton pegmatite, Newry, Maine. This once in a lifetime find was mined by the Plumbago Mining Corporation from 1972-1974. This find remains one of the largest tourmaline finds in North America!
The slice in this pendant is just about an inch from top to bottom (including the bail) and around 3/4" in width. The frame for this pendant is 14k yellow gold and was created by jeweler Scott Lawrence. Please note that there is a small space between the top of the slice and the gold mounting. This space does not affect the strength of the stone; normal wear and tear should not harm the stone.
